Challenge Details
Over the course of February, we’re asking pet parents to challenge themselves to go the distance. Choose one of the tiers of the dog walk challenge, whichever is best suited to you and your pooch, and get out and explore Leeds. The tier you choose will depend on your dog’s size and age, as well as what you are comfortable with.
Whether you stroll through local parks, hike scenic trails, or enjoy neighbourhood walks, every step you take will help raise vital funds whilst getting you and your best friend outdoors – helping to shake off the Winter blues!
1 – 28 mile challenge
This tier is great if you have a small or old dog. A mile a day, this tier of Dog Walk Challenge is the perfect entry point.
2 – 50 mile challenge
50 miles over the course of 28 days works out as just under 2 miles a day, or around 30-50 minutes of walking. This target is great for medium-sized dogs with that bit more stamina.
3 – 100 mile challenge
If you and your dog are up for the challenge, why not take on the 100-mile target? A little over 3 and a half miles a day, this target is a great chance for you to put yourself and your pooch to the test and see some amazing new walking spots while you are at it.
4 – Set your own challenge!
Whether you want to go even further with a more daring target or want to set a daily challenge that suits your capabilities and schedule, this fundraising challenge is flexible so you can do it how you like.
Here are a few ideas of challenges you could tackle!
- Rack up a full marathon distance in one month (26.2 miles)
- A lap of the garden every day with your dog
- One new walk or visit one new beauty spot every week
