Skills for Managers – Wed 5th March 2025

This training focuses on practical skills and tools to use when having a mental health conversation at work. It offers context on understanding mental health as well as detail on reasonable adjustments and best practices. Useful for anyone who manages staff.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session delegates will be able to…

  • Identify the business case for managing mental health at work
  • Explain the term ‘mental health’
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of mental ill health
  • Identify and use strategies for communicating effectively with staff who may be experiencing mental distress
  • Signpost staff to relevant support and services
  • Identify and apply reasonable adjustments in relation to mental health
  • Identify good practice for absence management in relation to mental health
  • Apply the stress vulnerability model (Stress Bucket)

This course is running over a full day, 5th March 2025. The session will be in-person at Forge, Number One, Great Exhibition Way, Kirkstall, Leeds LS5 3BF. RRP £175
