Stepping Stones
Please note: referrals can only be made by professionals such as: Primary care (GPs or social prescribers), West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Crisis services, A&E and others (if you’re not sure, please get in touch)
Stepping Stones is a prevention service that supports residents of Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.
The aim of the service is to reduce suicide and admission rates to A&E in relation to self-harm and suicide attempts.
Support is for people aged 18+. We can also support that person’s network, for example, friends, family and carers. The network support can include people under the age of 18.
The service draws on the peer support model, with staff using lived experience and a person-centred approach.
Support sessions will include: coping skills, reflective thinking, liaising with other support organisations, reducing risk and signposting.

Referrals
Referrals can only be made by professionals. If you are in touch with a professional (e.g. West Yorkshire Police or A&E staff) and are interested in the service, please speak to that professional about making a referral.
