Managing your money and your wellbeing can be stressful at the best of times. With the cost of living continuing to impact our day-to-day lives, it’s a great time to get involved with Leeds Mind’s upcoming Financial Wellbeing Workshops.

These workshops are designed to give you the tools and skills needed to stay in control of your finances and make managing money as easy and stress-free as possible. They are free to sign up to and attend.

The link between money and mental health

Money and mental health are closely linked – financial security (or lack of) has a big impact on our stress levels, our mood and our well-being in general. There are many reasons why we might struggle with money management, whether personal (such as mental health conditions or associated habits and behaviours) or societal (such as the cost of living crisis and cuts to support funding).

Research from Mind suggests that almost half of people have experienced a decline in their mental health due to the cost of living crisis. While the rate of inflation is gradually making its way back down, outgoings remain high and with them, people’s stress and anxiety levels. Rising rent prices, expensive groceries, funding cuts and lack of support all have their part to play in creating financial challenges that can quickly take their toll on our mental health.

Feeling out of control of your finances doesn’t have to become the new normal. Money In Mind financial wellbeing workshops offer resources and support to help you feel at ease about money and set you up for the future.
